Water!

Spring is here and Summer is coming.

The days are longer, the sun is brighter.

Is it too cold from the air conditioning or too hot from the heat?

With all the fluctuation of light and temperature it is not always easy determining the correct amount of water your plants need.

Plants need water!

Plants are composed of 80- 90% water and use water to produce food through photosynthesis, transport nutrients, cool foliage and maintain firmness of leaves and flowers.

The key to proper watering is to maintain a correct balance of water and air filled pore spaces in the soil.  It is always best to water a plant thoroughly then allow it to dry down as much as possible without stressing the plant or allowing it to wilt.

One way to do this is to touch the growing media and lift the grow pot to feel the weight of the plant before adding water.  If the plant feels moist to the touch it probably does not need watering.

Most plant decline is due to over watering.

Keep your plants happy and healthy.  Make sure they need water before your pour!
