Lisa Lann is the Director Of Administrative Services at Buckingham Greenery.

What is your background in plants/horticulture/plantscaping?
I took 2 years of horticulture in High School. Have always loved plants. Love the way they can change the look of a small room or large office space.

How long have you worked for Buckingham Greenery?
It will be 16 years Nov. 2, 2010 and I look forward to many more years.

What is the best part about working for BGI?
How everyone works together as a TEAM – Together we can accomplish/solve anything. Of course everyone is busy and has there own list of things to do everyday but when needed our TEAM is ready to jump right in and we get it done. Whatever is needed. It's very refreshing.

What is the 1 most important thing you've learned since working at BGI?
That clients/customers are the MOST important thing. We know without them there would be no BGI. We strive very hard to make sure they are always satisfied and come first. I learned that when I first walked in the door and that's still with me today. I take pride in doing so myself.

What do you feel makes BGI different/unique from its competitors?
Our people – we all share the same passion. Any place of business can have warm bodies but with BGI we truly care about the company and our clients and we want to do our best. That passion shows in our work and the way we treat people on a day to day basis.

Why do you feel plants are necessary in an office space?
It's like you hear on the cooking shows – "you eat with your eyes first."  Same applies to plants – you walk into an empty office space, it's cold and uninviting but when a space has nice plants and containers it says "Hello, Welcome."  It says you care enough about your workers that you want them to have that type of environment that they can enjoy coming into everyday and let's face it, most people are at work more than home these days!  It also says you want your Visitors to have that same experience.

What is your best advice for having plants inside (this can be how to keep them alive, what plants work best in certain places, what plants solve particular problems i.e. noise, allergies, etc.)
I myself have Asthma and for the 16 years that I've been with BGI we have always had plants at our Corp. office and with the greenhouses right outside I have the pleasure of changing out the plants as often as I want so you can imagine all the varieties we have gone through and I can honestly say plants REALLY do clean the air. Growing up I had Asthma often. I started with BGI when I was 23 and my Asthma is totally under control. I truly do take a Breath Of Fresh Air everyday.  For clients with employees that may have breathing problems the more plants you have around the cleaner the air will be.

Franklin Federal Holiday Testimonial

As usual, everything is beautiful again this year. We think so highly of the quality of work that Buckingham Greenery does. Every year we say we think that particular year is our favorite. The [Christmas] decorations exceed our expectations, which is hard to do because throughout the years you all have set a very high standard for yourselves to top! The installers were neat, professional and moved throughout the building quickly and did what they needed to do. At this point, we couldn't think of having anyone else do our decorations as we are so pleased. I would rate you all a 9 – only because if we gave you a 10 there wouldn't be any leeway for improvement (but the margin for improvement is very small).
