LEAN

LEAN

The 5 steps of LEAN The core idea of a LEAN organization is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste - creating more value for customers with fewer
resources.

The 6 S's:  Buckingham Greenery working smarter to continuously improve in all areas:

Sort - Reducing the number of items in a work area to just those things that we really need.

Shine - Clean and "shine" your workplace, desk, office, truck, bay or wherever you perform your work.

Set in Order - Evaluate and take actions to improve workflow, reduce motion and increase efficiency in the set up of your workspace

Standardize - Making sure the key steps are understood by everyone on how to keep the workspace looking like it does--like we used the first 3 S's

Sustain - Making sure all employees are trained on the Standard Procedure to keep an area clean and clutter free while also using visuals like charts and graphs to measure and audit current conditions.

Success - Working smarter together we all will succeed.

Here are some things Buckingham Greenery does to stay Lean:

  • Label all drawers to help to save time when looking for items
  • Don't use it, get rid of it
  • Managers trained on lean with weekly goals helps sustain Lean
  • Make sure each team member has everything they need to do their job
  • Communicate
